Advent 2015 – Luke 1:68-79

Today’s reading comes from Luke 1:68-79. A baby has been born to Elizabeth and Zechariah who will grow into the man known as ‘John the Baptist’. This birth is a miracle as the couple thought they could never have children. On top of that during the pregnancy Zechariah had completely lost the ability to speak. John is born and Zechariah gets his voice back. He then sings the song of praise found in Luke 1:68-79 which is full of God’s love, forgiveness and God’s ability to reach out to those in the darkest places.

Maybe today you could remember a hard time in your life in which you still felt God presence? Give thanks – sing a song!

Maybe today is that dark time? Maybe God seems far away? Spend some time praying, doodling, walking and find ways to reconnect.
