On Saturday 6th of May there is an emergency protest in central Auckland, “Rally for Peace – No War – Welcome Refugees”. (Find out more here)
Church in Progress meets once a month in part, to make space to attend social justice events and be out in our community. We are conflicted as this rally is on the same day as our monthly gathering.
However, we have decided to continue with our gathering on the 6th of May and make it a time in which we can discuss what peace means to us. We will also prayerfully consider how our faith influences our thoughts and actions regarding peace and war.
So, if you are unable to attend the protest in town, you are welcome to be part of a peaceful gathering out South.
Keep an eye on this event page for more information but be assured this will be a creative time of sharing, prayer, conversation and food!
The activities will start at 4pm. Please come at 3.30pm if you’d like to help set up. We also share food at around 5pm – so please bring something to share if you are able.
Every Church in Progress event has an open invitation. ALL are welcome, no matter how you identify.
Let us know you are coming by RSVPing on the facebook event.
